Knowing a world wonder: Machu Picchu

Our 3rd, 4th and 6th grade children were able to visit our world wonder Machu Picchu thanks to our friends from PeruRail.

About 40 students left the city of Urubamba on their way to Ollantaytambo, where a delicious and nutritious snack awaited our children before boarding the train. For many of them it was their first time on a train, they stayed awake during the whole trip and enjoyed the scenery along the route.

When they arrived at the town of Aguas Calientes or also known as Machu Picchu Pueblo, our children lined up to board the buses that would take them to the fortress. However, before making their entrance, our friends from PeruRail provided them with a delicious buffet at the Santuary Lodge Hotel located in front of the archaeological site. All the students enjoyed delicious appetizers and desserts, being this their favorite part of the trip.

After lunch, the children entered Machu Picchu, divided into groups, where each group had a professional guide who told them about the fortress and the Inca culture.

This has been a learning and entertaining experience for our children, who returned home very happy and proud of their culture. We are very grateful to our friends at PeruRail for this kind of activities that allow our students to live unique moments.
